I’ve been watching Benj Haisch’s videos for years. I like his style and his points of view when it comes to reviewing cameras and lenses. So it’s nice to see he’s a bit conflicted about the swarm of Chinese M Mount lenses that are entering the market.
On one hand, there’s the excitement of having much cheaper options for a system widely known for being expensive. On the other, almost all Chinese lenses are heavily “borrowing” from the original models.
It’s the same story with my TTArtisan 28mm f/5.6, which I managed to snag for under $200. That’s a lot less than the Leica Summaron 28mm f/5.6 it emulates – prices start at $1500 on eBay.
What do you think? Do Chinese lenses have a place in the current camera market?
