- The new line-up is honestly very convincing, especially if you’re coming from an older iPhone like me (#teamiPhone13mini).
- The square selfie camera is a clever move: finally solves that awkward grip when holding the phone in landscape.
- 33% less reflective screens and always on displays across the range. Nice!
- Compared to my poor 13 mini with 79% battery health, literally any iPhone 17 or Air would last me twice as long.
- Speaking of battery, the Air is 10% less capable than the 17.
- If you’re thinking long-term, the Pro feels like the smarter choice. Better to stick with it for a few years than go entry-level and upgrade again in two.
- That Deep Blue iPhone 17 Pro? Sign me up. Same for the unibody design on the Pro models. Absolutely love it.
- One thing that still feels odd: Apple skipped numbering the Air, which may be confusing. I’d love to see a clean line-up someday: iPhone E, iPhone, iPhone Air, iPhone Pro, iPhone Pro Max.
- I think Apple missed the chance of making the Air’s camera truly special, by combining the bigger sensor of the 26mm with the 13mm lens. That I believe would’ve enabled a Fusion camera much more versatile than the current 26-52mm offering.
- That Crossbody Strap is going to be everywhere. Factories in China are probably already pumping out knockoffs as we speak.
- Pro models are $100 more expensive. Apple basically removed the 128 GB version, so technically you’ll pay the same for the other versions. It’s a sneaky way of increasing the average selling price and investors will love it;
