Sony needs a bigger APS-C camera

Sony cameras are great if you want to travel light – I’ve already written about how good the Sony E 20mm f/2.8 is on my a6300. But if you want to get into wildlife photography, you’ll soon find out the current Sony APS-C cameras are too compact.

Here’s what the 70-350mm f/4.5-6.3 G lens looks like when mounted on my a6300.

Doesn’t this look like the a6300 needs another 10mm? Or an official battery grip?
“Say hello to my little friend!”

I’m not saying the shooting experience is ruined. The lens balances pretty well on the a6300. It just needs a taller camera, with a deeper grip or a battery grip made by Sony.

Maybe 2023 will be the year Sony does it.
