The Canon EOS R5 was finally announced and the spec sheet is quite impressive. It has a 45-megapixel sensor, 8K video recording with no crop, a 12 fps mechanical shutter and a 20 fps electronic one. It already has got a lot of press, therefore Sony has to deliver an outstanding camera to outshine it.
However, the Sony A7SII successor needs to have just one feature to make people forget about the Canon R5: no 4K overheating. Sony has promised a passive cooling feature for its upcoming camera so things are looking good.
Sony should launch the A7SII successor by the end of this month.
